01 Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how New Wave Jiu Jitsu ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our websites, including our adult and kids program landing pages, and when you book a free trial class with us. We are a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy located at 6609 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46250.

By using our site or submitting your details through our booking forms, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit your information.

02 Information we collect

Information you give us

When you book a free trial, we ask for your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. On our kids and youth page we also ask which age group a child falls into (ages 3–5 or 6–14) so we can schedule the right class. You may also share information when you call, email, or message us with a question.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our advertising and analytics partners automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, using cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar storage technologies. This can include your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the ad or link that brought you here, and how you interact with the page. We use this to understand which ads and pages are working and to improve the experience.

03 How we use your information

We use the information we collect to schedule and confirm your free trial class, to contact you about your visit, to answer your questions, and to send you reminders and information about classes you have asked about. We also use information to measure how our advertising performs, to show relevant ads to people who may be interested in training with us, to keep the site secure, and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

04 Meta (Facebook & Instagram) advertising

We advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and use the Meta Pixel on our site. The pixel and related Meta business tools allow third parties, including Meta, to use cookies, web beacons, and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and to use that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads.

When you submit a booking form, contact details such as your name, email, and phone number may be shared with Meta in a hashed (scrambled) form so that Meta can match activity to its users for measurement and to build audiences for our ads. We never send Meta your information for it to use on its own behalf beyond providing these services to us.

You can control how your information is used for ad targeting:

  • Adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram account settings.
  • Opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, or, outside the U.S., at youronlinechoices.eu.

05 Google advertising & remarketing

We also advertise with Google and may use Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. This means we use remarketing to advertise online, and third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on websites across the internet. These vendors, including Google, use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads to you based on your past visits to our site.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google through your Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies through the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we honor your consent choices through Google Consent Mode. Advertising and analytics cookies are not used for ad personalization or measurement unless you grant consent.

06 Cookies & your choices

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work, and, with your consent where required by law, cookies that help us understand site usage and deliver and measure advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do. You can also use the advertising opt-out tools described in the Meta and Google sections above to limit interest-based advertising.

07 How we share information

We share information only as needed to run our academy and serve our ads. This includes our scheduling and customer-management provider, which powers the booking calendars where you choose your class time, and our advertising and analytics partners, Meta and Google, as described above. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not allow our partners to use the information we share for their own unrelated purposes.

08 Children's privacy

Our kids and youth program is for children, but our website and booking forms are directed to parents and guardians, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. When you book a trial for your child, the parent or guardian provides the contact details and selects the child's age group; the only information about the child we collect at this stage is that age group.

We handle any information relating to children in line with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable Indiana law, which treats children's data as sensitive. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information directly, please contact us at info@nwjj.net and we will delete it.

09 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Indiana residents have these rights under the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, which took effect on January 1, 2026.

To make a request, email us at info@nwjj.net with the details of your request. We will verify your identity before acting and will respond within the time required by law. You can also use the advertising opt-out tools listed above at any time without contacting us.

10 Data retention & security

We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide our services, to follow up about a trial you requested, and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be posted here. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
